Wedding preparations have been on overdrive in recent weeks. Even as the big day draws nearer, the to-do list does not seem to be getting shorter. Much of our waking moments are spent discussing various details of the wedding in what is a tricky balance of achieving a dream wedding within the real realm of our budget.
It is less than 3 months away to the wedding and as we put the finishing touches to the detailed programme of the day, it was time for both families to come together and walk-through the sequence of events. Not only was it a time for finalizing as much details as possible, it was also only the second time that everyone from both families met up, with the last one being the engagement ceremony earlier in the year.
As each item in the programme was explained, comments and opinions from both sides were heard in a mutually respectful manner. Being a 'combined event' as opposed to the traditional two-event Malay wedding setup, it was even more important that ideas and requests from both families were heard and taken into consideration at every step of the way.
The programme now seems to be firmed up and it is time to hit the ground running with all the detailed execution and confirmation with vendors. There are final fittings to do, detailed floral selections to make, cards to be printed, decorative accessories to be bought and other miscellaneous tasks that needs our attention! Onwards!
